Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
With minimal supervision, timely, accurately and efficiently evaluates applications from new/renewal customers and requests changes in policies, determines to accept/decline/modify applications or requests, including more complex accounts. Determines and negotiates the appropriate pricing, markets company products effectively, promotes agency management and relationships, and maintains profitable customer accounts. Assists in formulating, and is accountable for achieving premium budget forecasts, and is accountable for profit and loss, business development in the assigned territory, and furthering external sales. Maintains good customer relations, working relations with co-workers and other company personnel. Supervising underwriters; assists in the training or oversight of new employees and/or new duties for other employees. Demonstrates consistent above average proficiency in all lines of business and multiple company programs. Consistently demonstrates ability to work independently and provide direction to co-workers on complex coverage and analysis issues. Keeps underwriting knowledge and awareness current. Exhibits advanced negotiation skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Qualified candidates will have 5 or more years of commercial
insurance experience in the following areas:
 Supervision - Directs and supervises underwriting activities and goals and training for personnel in her/his assigned area of responsibility
 Applications/Renewal Policies - Reviews, evaluates, and determines to accept, decline, or modify applications and renewal policies
 Underwriting - Underwrites or provides assistance in underwriting large or unusual risks; requests for changes in policies which requires an understanding of statutory requirements, ISO, company and NCCI coverage forms and endorsements
 Agency Relationships - Manages a group of agencies, including prospecting for new agencies, agency appointment, growth and development, maximization of agency profit sharing
